Viddsee, FDCP launch online film tilt
NEWS
Streaming platform Viddsee launched its filmmaker programme Viddsee Juree Awards in the Philippines, in partnership with the Film Development Council of the Philippines.
Filmmakers are invited to submit their short films, whether narrative, animation or documentary, with running time not longer than 30 minutes, including end credits. Films must have been created after Jan. 1, 2015. Deadline for submission is on Sept. 14.
Filmmakers will be notified in case their film is selected for Viddsee Juree. Out of the selection, 10 films will advance into the competition section, where the top two will win production equipment, including a cinema camera from Blackmagic and a 5-day film immersion course in Los Angeles in 2018.
The Viddsee Juree Awards will have a roadshow in various cities and locations, including the University of the Philippines Film Institute and the Far Eastern University.
“Offline events are a big deal for us, as a digital-first platform. Launching this filmmaker programme in the Philippines is even a bigger deal, having witnessed a wellspring of creativity in the Philippines. We hope to help the creative community grow, and also hope to create content together eventually,” says Viddsee co-founder Ho Jia Jian.
“Viddsee has been an excellent addition to the platforms available to our Filipino filmmakers where we can showcase a rich and diverse set of content representing our thriving cinema scene,” says Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) chairperson Liza Diño-Seguerra.
